Father of the Nation - Platinum Series Rs 1500 (State House - Reduit)
A platinum commemorative coin of Rs1500 denomination in proof condition has been issued on 30 October 2009. It is the first coin issued in the "Father of the Nation" Platinum series to pay tribute to Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam in laying the foundation stone of the Mauritian nation.
The design on the obverse of the coin depicts The State House, Reduit with the inscription "Rs1500" underneath and with the surrounding inscription "FATHER OF THE NATION PLATINUM SERIES * MAURITIUS 2009 * STATE HOUSE - REDUIT*" .
The design on the reverse of the coin bears an effigy of Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam with the inscription ' DR THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR SEEWOOSAGUR RAMGOOLAM KT'
The coin is in a transparent acrylic protection capsule contained in a blue case with the logo of the Bank of Mauritius on top. A Certificate of Authenticity issued by Monnaie De Paris giving the specifications of the coin is enclosed in the presentation case.
The coin is circular in shape with a diameter of 25 mm and weighs 7,8 grams.

Father of the Nation - Platinum Series Rs 1200 (Aapravasi Ghat)
A platinum commemorative coin of Rs1200 denomination in proof condition has been issued on 27 November 2010. It is the second coin issued in the "Father of the Nation" Platinum series to pay tribute to Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam in laying the foundation stone of the Mauritian nation.
The design on the obverse of the coin depicts the Aapravasi Ghat, with the inscription "Rs1200" underneath and with the surrounding inscription "FATHER OF THE NATION PLATINUM SERIES * MAURITIUS 2010 * AAPRAVASI GHAT*" .
