Public Notice: Global IT Outage

Further to the global IT outage currently affecting businesses across the world, the Bank of Mauritius (Bank) immediately convened a meeting with Chief Information Security Officers and IT teams of all commercial banks, and domestic payment service providers under its purview.
 
The Bank has so far been informed that disruption is minimal, and that services and operations should be back to normal in the next hours.
 
As the Bank’s primary focus is to ensure stability and integrity in the banking and financial system, a special cell has been set up by the Bank to closely monitor the situation.
 
The Bank advises the public to exercise caution regarding phishing attempts from scammers who may try and take advantage of the global IT outage.
