Mr Saïd Toorbuth was appointed on the Board of Directors of the Bank of Mauritius in March 2020.

Mr Saïd Toorbuth is a practicing barrister reckoning almost thirty years of professional experience. Prior to joining the legal profession, he held the position of Principal Social Security Officer at the Ministry of Social Security. From the 21st of May 2014 to the 20th of March 2015, he was the Chairperson of the Independent Review Panel.

Mr Toorbuth holds a LLB (Hons) from the University of Mauritius and was called to the bar in 1992. He also holds a Diploma in Social Work from the University of Mauritius and is diplomate of the Centre National d’Etudes Supérieures de Sécurité Sociale (France).

Mr Toorbuth is married and has two sons.
